  1. I'll provide you with a decode so you have someone to respond to. It was missing start/stop codons, so I didn't know where to start. Starting from the beginning just creates nonsense:

    DNA: ATTGACAACCTCACCGCAGAGTCATCACGACCCCTTAGCCG
    RNA; UAA CUG UUG GAG UGG CGU CUC AGU AGU GCU GGG GAA UCG GC

    I found if I skipped the first four bases and left the last four of, the sentence made sense, but this is not how a protein synthesis enzyme reads the code. It needs that start codon to know where to start.

    UAAC UGU UGG AGU GGC GUC UCA GUA GUG CUG GGG AAU CGGC

    1. I'm sorry I thought that the start and end codons were listed in the table. I used those thinking it was correct. The student I chose to decode or must have had the same mistake as well. I'm really sorry about that.

    2. No, that was just an example of random bases, as explained in the guidelines! It wasn't a triplet, correct? Otherwise, you were on the right track.
